befriending and negotiating tips and tricks

Once you get them to the point of asking for stuff it gets easier. NEVER give them macca. If they ask for a life stone, fork one over, but don't give beads or anything like that. You can usually cheat once (rarely twice), refuse twice or so, and end talks. End talks is surprisingly effective. Once you get them a life stone once or twice, refused/cheated a couple times, choose end talks. It usually convinces them to join your party.
